OUR WORK

See what’s possible when people show up for a place.
Better Block SGF turns ideas into real-world experiences. Our projects help people see, test, and shape a better future for the streets, corridors, and gathering places they share.

WHAT WE’RE BUILDING NOW

Every project starts with a real place, real people, and a question worth testing. Explore the initiatives currently helping Springfield make room for more connection, creativity, and possibility.

Movable Murals

Movable Murals bring color, curiosity, and a sense of possibility to places in transition—helping a site tell its story while inviting people into what comes next.

WHAT WE'VE BUILT IN THE PAST

Community Fridge

Better Block SGF helped launch Springfield’s Community Fridge initiative by building early awareness, partnerships, and momentum. Today, the fridges are stewarded by community partners and volunteers. We are proud of the runway this project created—and grateful to the people who continue it.

HAVE A PLACE IN MIND?
Let's talk about what we could help activate there.

We partner with neighborhoods, businesses, and local organizations to make places work better for people.

Whether you have a site, corridor, or early-stage idea in mind, we can help identify the right next step—from a workshop or activation to a larger strategy. If there’s a fit, we’ll shape a scope and estimate around your needs, timing, and available resources.

Is there a vacant lot, underused park, unsafe intersection, empty storefront, forgotten street, or community space in Springfield that you think could be better? We want to hear about it!

Let’s talk about what could happen there.
